VisualsDUCK BECAME SWAN is taking the next step in terms of reduction. Wheareas the former piece of Mehr and Sixt „Transit“ was playing visually with different shapes, in this work one form is morphing. It ́s a fluid abstract movement, varying in strength and denseness. Even though the changes are marginal it ́s a conitnous process brewing in the unknowable background. It ́s brought down to its essence. The colours are primarily black and white, just a dirty green is breaking through sometimes.
Sound A beautiful blissed out loop at funeral pace gradually submerges under waves of fuzz holding ist own against clashing and crashing metallics and buzzsaw hums. By the time ‘Duck Became Swan’ ends the listener beco- mes convinced that what at first seemed ugly is instead beautiful: the trick of the fairy tale and the musician. Mehr rides the edge of experimental mu- sic without falling into a too-abstract space. His explorations are tethered by identifiable structures, but the farthest reaches of his intentions pack enough allure and interest to bring you to them and hold you there.
