FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
Fear is predominantly triggered by an uncertainty about the future and certain things happening or not happening to us. What we know for sure is, that birth and death are certain.
Death is what we are most afraid of, because we don´t know exactly how and when it will happen and if there will be an after or not.
Same thing if we turn it around, change the perspective, slip into the role of a fetus. This little being does not know what to expect, does it reflect about it? Or is it smarter than we are later in our lifespan - and stays present until the inevitable gets real - birth.
